Role Overview

You’ll support emergency preparedness and response, focusing on behavior change, community mobilization, and participation. You’ll work closely with UNICEF, government, WHO, and other partners.

Responsibilities

  1. SBC Technical & Operational Support:
    • Develop and implement RCCE plans for behavior change and social mobilization.
    • Provide technical support for RCCE guidelines.
    • Strengthen RCCE leadership and coordination.
    • Use data to improve RCCE interventions.
    • Collaborate with partners for integrated RCCE activities.
  2. Capacity Building:
    • Organize training for government and non-government partners.
    • Develop tools and materials for RCCE.
    • Facilitate capacity building on RCCE interventions.
    • Conduct capacity assessments to identify gaps and opportunities.
  3. RCCE Coordination & Implementation:
    • Design RCCE strategies with partners.
    • Develop and test RCCE communication materials.
    • Ensure technical quality and relevance of RCCE materials.
    • Prepare presentation content for key meetings.
  4. Monitoring & Evaluation:
    • Participate in monitoring and reporting on RCCE activities.
    • Collect, analyze, and report RCCE indicators.
    • Document RCCE progress and prepare reports.
    • Update RCCE resources for partners and clusters.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s or higher in social/behavioral science, sociology, anthropology, communication, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in social development, SBC, public advocacy, with 3 years in emergency response.
  • Skills: Strong RCCE technical knowledge, communication, data-driven planning, and monitoring.
  • Languages: Fluency in English.
  • Preferred: UN system experience, developing country work experience, knowledge of cholera prevention, and understanding of humanitarian principles.
