Overview
Join us as a Communications and Research Intern, working remotely under the guidance of the Head of Communications at UNDP Somalia. Help communicate our work and research key issues.
What You’ll Do
1. Support Communications Activities:
- Publications: Assist in compiling, drafting, and formatting reports, brochures, and newsletters.
- Reports: Write concise updates on project activities and summarize outcomes of virtual workshops.
- Data Collection: Conduct remote interviews and gather data from field projects.
2. Conduct Desk Research:
- Key Messages: Research and identify key themes and messages for specific topics.
- Development Analysis: Review data sources to identify factors influencing Somalia’s development.
3. Regular Communications Tasks:
- Event Calendar: Maintain an organized calendar of upcoming events.
- News Monitoring: Track updates, trends, and developments related to our work.
- Admin Support: Assist with event planning, tracking systems, and maintaining contact lists.
4. Adapt to Dynamic Needs:
- Take on other communications tasks as needed, leveraging your specific skills and interests.
What We’re Looking For
Skills:
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team.
Requirements:
- Education: Enrolled in a postgraduate degree, final year of a first university degree, or recently graduated in fields like Communications.
- Experience: Public relations, advocacy, communications, and experience with international organizations are a plus. Proficiency in office software and web-based management systems.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and Somali.
Financials:
- Internships are subject to UN conditions. Stipends are provided based on your remote location. Any additional costs must be covered by your institution or government.
