Overview
We’re looking for a Camp Manager to oversee the maintenance and administration of our minefield camps. This role ensures the camps run smoothly and safely, with all necessary equipment and support services in place.

- Reports to: Logistics Officer
- Manages: Camp cooks, camp watchmen
- Salary: $362 USD per month
Key Responsibilities
Logistics
- Main contact between minefield staff and HQ logistics team.
- Regularly assess and order camp needs (food, fuel, water, building materials).
- Manage, store, secure, and maintain camp assets.
- Secure assets during standdowns.
- Transfer assets between locations as needed.
- Prepare accommodations for visitors.
- Oversee construction of new camp facilities.
- Update inventory records for water, fuel, and food.
- Conduct weekly store checks.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
- Implement and maintain HSE measures:
- Fire extinguishers
- Water and food safety
- Mosquito nets and drainage
- Maintenance of washing facilities and toilets
- Electrical systems
- Trip/fall hazard prevention
- Fencing and building structure
- Oil and fuel storage
- Tents
- Ensure logical and clean camp setup.
- Maintain high sanitary standards.
- Uphold HALO’s environmental policies.
- Identify and implement camp improvements.
Other Responsibilities
- Support minefield management staff with various tasks.
- Handle additional camp management duties as needed.
- Uphold HALO’s values and standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Strong literacy in Somali
- Strong numeracy skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to live in HALO camps for extended periods
- Attention to detail
Desired
- English communication skills
- Experience managing remote camps
- Experience in logistics, procurement, or stock management
